Golden Grove Therapy
My Therapeutic Approaches

Therapy that's
as unique as
you are.

Every person is unique, which is why I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I integrate evidence-based approaches based on your goals, strengths, and experiences to create a therapy process that feels supportive, personalized, and meaningful.

The Foundation

An Attachment-Based,
Psychodynamic &
Compassion-Focused Lens

At the foundation of my work is an attachment-based and psychodynamic lens. This means we pay attention to how early relationships and life experiences shape the ways you think, feel, and relate today.

Many of the patterns that show up in adulthood — such as anxiety, relationship dynamics, self-worth, perfectionism, or emotional responses — often make more sense when we understand their origins. In therapy, we explore these patterns with curiosity rather than judgment so you can develop deeper insight and more freedom in how you respond in the present.

Compassion & Strengths

I take a compassionate, strengths-based perspective in this work. Rather than focusing on what is "wrong," we look at how your mind and body have adapted in response to life experiences. These adaptations often reflect attempts to cope, protect yourself, and stay connected. Together, we build understanding and compassion for those parts of you while also supporting growth and change.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is woven into this process by helping you slow down and notice your internal experiences with more awareness and less judgment. This creates space to respond rather than react, and to relate to yourself with greater clarity and care.

Psychoeducation

I believe understanding yourself is one of the most empowering parts of therapy. Throughout our work together, I'll naturally incorporate psychoeducation to help you better understand your emotions, nervous system, relationships, and patterns.

01 Trauma & Healing

Eye Movement Desensitization
and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process and heal from distressing or traumatic experiences that may feel "stuck." While it is well known for trauma, it can also help with anxiety, negative core beliefs, and experiences that continue to impact your present. The goal is not to erase memories, but to reduce the emotional distress they carry so they feel less overwhelming and less defining.

03 Values & Flexibility

Acceptance and Commitment
Therapy (ACT)

ACT helps you develop a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions rather than trying to eliminate them. We work on making space for internal experiences while taking meaningful action guided by your values. The goal is greater psychological flexibility, self-compassion, and a life that feels meaningful — even when challenges arise.

02 OCD & Anxiety

Exposure and Response
Prevention (ERP)

ERP is considered the gold standard treatment for OCD and can also be effective for anxiety-related concerns. Together, we gradually face fears while reducing avoidance or compulsions that keep anxiety going. The process is collaborative, paced, and focused on helping you build confidence and regain freedom from fear.

04 Always Personalized

A Thoughtful
Blend

Therapy isn't about fitting you into one specific model. Most often, our work together is a thoughtful blend of these approaches, tailored to your unique goals, experiences, and needs. My hope is that you leave therapy feeling understood, supported, and equipped with tools that continue to serve you beyond our sessions.
